Single Subject Credential
The program is approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing http://www.ctc.ca.gov/ for the preparation of teachers earning Preliminary Single Subject Credentials. The program is a one-year program and generally coursework is completed during the fall and spring semesters. However, through BATC it is possible to complete some coursework the summer before the fall semester, therefore spreading out the course load over a full year. Students who complete the program will receive a Preliminary Single Subject Credential and will be given five years to earn their Professional Clear Credential.
Bay Area Teachers Center and

The Preliminary Single Subject Credential is offered in the same subject areas that are offered through the traditional program at San Francisco State University: English, Foreign Language, Visual Art, Music, Math, Science, Social Science, Home Economics, and Physical Education.
